The StreamLabs Monitor provides reliable monitoring and alerts so you don't need to worry about the integrity of your water delivery system.
Live in a high rise and have had StreamLabs about 5 years. Has alerted us on many occasions of water leakage or toilet running. Received a discount on homeowners insurance for having system. Like being able to monitor system on my phone when I am not home. Originally, when first got system water would shut off when someone was taking a long shower, but now that the settings for water flow were adjusted it’s not a problem
I have had this product since October of 2018 or 7 years and it has saved me a few times where we had a faucet or a stuck toilet was running. While none have been a true leak as in a failure of our water plumbing it is a confirmation that if a true leak were to happen this unit would alert us as intended. Installation is an easy DYI project with instructions and necessary hardware included in the package. I initially installed it on 3/4” galvanized pipe but just last year relocated it to 3/4 PEX pipe after a whole house repipe. The App is available in the App Store and is a very impressive full-featured App with both realtime and historical reporting. I can honestly say that this product takes a little stress and anxiety out of our daily lives. I enthusiastically recommend this unit.
I bought the StreamLabs Monitor to track water usage and monitor leaks while I was on vacation.
1. The monitor was easy to install on 3/4" copper supply line in my home.
2. The monitor wireless connection was easy to setup and view on phone app.
3. Accuracy was pretty good testing occasionally with 1gal water jugs threw faucet and toilet flushes.
4. The app needs a little polishing on the data shown.
5. Requires cloud services and there is not local data option w/o cloud.
6. Connection to cloud for your data requires a "key" which requires a subscription. *Dropped a star here for no local connection.
7. I was on the development team when these came out and received a free key, later was switched to a paid version.
8. I built a Homeseer 4 plugin (free) that users with this monitor can link to their HS4.
9. Unfortunately, in my new home, there are no copper pipes and access to supply is not available so I had to abandon the monitor.
Net: I would recommend the monitor for water usage and leak detection. Leak detection won;t stop the leak if your on vacation but if you have someone watching the home, they can stop the supply.
We have had several incidents of water burst in the house while we were away. The device caught it every time, notified me, and shut off the water. Minimal damage. My only complaint is that the software always asks for a review whenever it is used. That is a distraction that is unnecessary when dealing with an emergency. Big enough annoyance to prevent a five star rating.
I've had the monitor for more than five years and other than replacing the rubber pads twice, it has been completely reliable. It's saved me from disaster more than once. Twice, running toilets would have drained my well. But the best save was when a hot water pipe embedded in my basement slab began failing. The monitor was showing small but steadily increasing water usage overnight when there should have been none. Without the monitor, I would have never known of the leak until the pipe had completely failed.
Works good! Detected a drip in the hose bib. Happy with product performance
We followed the advice on installation with our local Plummer, and the 7-day learning period. All is now functioning just fine, and Chubb, my insurance carrier is happy too. The only issue I’ve encountered, is that apparently my outdoor faucet, feeds off of the house piping, rather than the separated irrigation system , so when I do an extended hose watering, the control identifies it as an unusual event and shuts down. I easily reset the valve open, and now I know. the product is really very slick and smart! Love the APP TOO!
The product is nice and of very good quality, and the installation was extremely easy. It took about 15 minutes because I already had NPT flex fittings on the main water line for the softener. I had to purchase a nipple to convert the female inlet to male, but that was simple enough.
Initial setup and learning was also really simple and the app is quite nice. I really haven't had any problems with it.
My only complaint is that, after the intiial week of training, where we exposed it to extraordinarily high flows of long duration like filling a large whirlpool tub multiple times, it unceremoniously cut off the water while doing the dishes. The flow rate and duration was considerably lower than it had trained, so I don't know why it thought that was a leak. However, the app alerted me, and I was able turn the water back on right away, so it wasn't a big deal.
I also found that in the app, I could select manual settings so that it won't do that again. I thought that was a very nice touch.
Very good design. Had no problems with install. They make it very easy.
The kit arrived on time with all the parts. Sadly it didn't solve my problem but that is not the fault of the move kit.
So far we have been happy with the device. We have comfort that we have a better chance of avoiding water problems. This is our second residence in the mountains and with cold weather and house being unoccupied a lot we feel better
Easy set up and easy to connect t wi-fi. Looking forward to the savings on insurance premiums!
My unit stopped working and turned out I just needed to replace the 2 contact pads that are in this kit.
Very easy to install and use. The investment paid in months as detected precisely a leakage on time. Saved me multiples of the cost of the equipment. I’m rolling out the installation of the control unit for my vacation home as well.
This is great! I didn’t have any difficulties to instal and setup my monitor after having moved it, because of this kit a received from your store..
Thank you your “stuff” help us economize water!
Purchased the 1" shutoff control valve and battery backup. Unit was easy to install by homeowner using the FNPT fittings. Inlet and outlet fittings are unions so no extra fittings are required other than male adaptors for PVC pipe.. App was easy to set up and use. Water pressure and temperature are also monitored. I haven't used the 'away' mode yet but expect it to work as advertised once the limits are configured. Chubb customers receive a 20% discount.
