What Sets Us Apart
Stainless steel quarter turn ball valve
Allows for manual shut off via the StreamLabs app or the automatic shut-off of your water line after reaching a leak detection threshold. The Control also checks the valve monthly by opening and closing it to ensure its longevity and functionality. This is done in the middle of the night when the water is not likely to be in use.
Temperature and humidity sensor
Detects freezing conditions that can cause pipes to burst in your plumbing system. The humidity sensors will detect abnormal levels of moisture, such as high humidity that can cause mold or low humidity that can cause wood to crack.
Ultrasonic flow sensor
Measures water flow by transmitting sound waves into your main water line and recording the time delay. The Control water sensor can detect leaks as low as .1gpm.
1 in. full-flow brass body
Allows for uninterrupted and full water flow.
Pressure Transducer
Alerts of excessive high pressure that can cause failure of plumbing connections to appliances and fixtures as well as low pressure from leaks outside the house. Enables the Drip Detect feature to warn against pinhole leaks that are below the 0.1 gpm flow threshold.
9V power override
Gives you the option to power the Control valve on or off with a 9-volt battery in the event of a power outage. This is not a battery back-up.

FAQs
Can I install the Control myself or should I call a plumber?
The Control is an in-line water monitoring device, meaning that the pipe must be cut during installation. If you are not comfortable doing this, we highly recommend calling a plumber to install the device for you. You should also check your building code (some buildings require all plumbing work to be done by a licensed professional) as well as your homeowner's or renter's insurance policy. The Control comes included with physical installation instructions.
Can I install the Control outdoors?
We do not recommend installing the Control outdoors, and doing so will void the product's warranty. The Control needs to be installed in a location where it is shielded from direct sunlight, excessive moisture such as rain, dramatic temperature fluctuations, and wind. Crawlspaces, garages, sheds, and weatherproof, outdoor enclosures, are all acceptable installation locations as well as anywhere else that is indoors or inside the house.
What pipe type and sizes does the Control work with?
Supported Pipe Diameters are:
¾”, 1”, 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2"
Most homes have incoming water lines in the 3/4" to 1-1/4" diameter range. These sizes refer to the nominal outside pipe diameter of the water line where the Control will be installed. Some larger properties and buildings have incoming water lines that are 1-1/2" or 2" in diameter. In either size group, it is important to note that sometimes the pipe diameter where the Control will be installed may be smaller than the incoming water line. After entering the home, the larger main water line may branch to several smaller lines (which is often the case in homes with outdoor irrigation and/or a pool, guest house, or other out-building).
What are the available fitting types?
FNPT - Female National Pipe Thread (typical for professional installation). These require soldering/sweating matching Male NPT fittings onto the ends of the cut pipe where the Control will be installed. FNPT fittings are available in ¾”, 1”, 1-1/4", 1-1/2", and 2"
PTC - Push To Connect (Typical for DIY installation)1"
3/4" and 1". These fittings do not require soldering, but rather push onto the ends of the cut pipe where the Control will be installed. Note that it is very important to ensure that the cut ends of the pipe where the Control will be installed are de-burred and clean prior to installing the Control with PTC fittings.
How do I power my Control?
Your Control comes with a 120VAC to 12VDC, 12W power adapter. Use only the provided power adapter.
If you are having issues with powering your Control:
- Check that the power adapter is plugged in securely at both the Monitor and the wall (house power).
- Verify that any adaptors are undamaged and in working condition.
If this power adapter is damaged or missing, do not attempt to find another one. Please contact support.
Note: The barrel connector of the power adapter will not be fully inserted into the Control (expect a few millimeters of the silver end to be showing.) If the connector is fully in place, you should see the LEDs on the top of the Control light up.
The Control feels heavy, do I need a bracket to support it?
The Control weighs roughly 3.5lbs, which is about the same weight as a typical pressure-regulating valve (PRV). In most scenarios, you do not need a bracket to support the Control's weight. However, using a bracket will not affect the Control's performance and you may do so if you wish. For best results, consult a licensed professional or plumber.
Will the Control still protect my home if my WiFi goes out?
The Control will still shut your water off if it detects a leak, even if it does not have an active Wi-Fi connection, as long as Auto-Shut is enabled in the Streamlabs Control settings. Auto-Shut will close the valve any time a leak is detected, with or without Wi-Fi. To check if you have Auto-Shut enabled, follow the steps below:
- Open the Streamlabs App.
- Click on your Control.
- Click on the settings wheel (gear icon) in the top right corner.
- Click on "Alerts".
- Click on "Home Mode Leak" and ensure that "Automatically shut off water" is enabled for both slow and major leaks.
- Go back and click on "Away Mode Leak" and ensure that "Automatically shut off water" is enabled.
However, if the Control is not connected to Wi-Fi, it will not report water usage or live flow rates to the Streamlabs App, and you will be unable to open or close the valve from the Streamlabs App. You will still be able to manually open or close the valve by pressing the buttons on top of the Control itself.
Can the Control be used to measure liquids other than water?
The Control is designed specifically for use with liquid water. It will not accurately measure other liquids or water with a high volume of particles or air bubbles in it. We do not recommend using the Control with liquids other than water, and doing so will void the product's warranty.
